When each branch runs its own copy, the owner's view of the business is whatever somebody sends at the end of the month. Stock cannot be moved intelligently because nobody knows what the other branch is holding, and the same item ends up over-ordered at one place and out of stock at another.
One system with branches inside it changes the unit of measurement from the shop to the business. Stock is visible everywhere, transfers are recorded at both ends, and reporting can be read per branch or consolidated without anyone doing arithmetic.

Do all branches need good internet?
For the cloud edition, yes — that is what keeps them in step. Where one location has an unreliable line, we have customers running it offline there and syncing, and we will talk through whether that is sensible for your case.
Can rates differ between branches?
Yes. Price lists can be set per branch where markets differ, while the item master stays common.
What about a godown that is not a shop?
A godown is just another location. It holds stock, receives and issues transfers, and does not bill.
