From the counter, to the bench, to the bill
A repair business runs on a different clock from a shop. Goods arrive belonging to someone else, sit somewhere while work is done, and leave when they are paid for. The job card is the document that holds all of that together, and it has to be the same document that becomes the invoice.
Used by phone, appliance and equipment repairers. The item on the bench is not yours
The two things that go wrong in repair businesses are the same everywhere: nobody can say where a particular item is or what stage it is at, and parts get used without ever reaching the bill. Both are records problems rather than technical ones.
A job card fixes both by being the single place the job lives. It is opened when the item is taken in, it collects the parts and the labour as work happens, and the invoice comes off it at the end rather than being assembled from memory.
The job card, end to end
Intake with the condition recorded
Customer, item, serial or IMEI, reported fault, accessories handed in, and the condition it arrived in. This is the part that prevents arguments at delivery.
Stages you can see
Received, diagnosed, awaiting approval, awaiting part, in progress, ready, delivered. Anyone at the counter can answer where a job is without walking to the bench.
Parts and labour on the card
Parts issued come out of stock and onto the job, so a part cannot be used without appearing on the bill. Labour is added the same way.
Estimate, approval, invoice
An estimate goes to the customer, the approval is recorded, and the invoice is generated from the job card. Warranty jobs are marked as such and billed at nil rather than left off the books.
This is where most of our work starts
What is described above is how Stock2Track does it out of the box, and for most shops that is the end of the conversation. When it is not — when your business does this one step differently and the difference matters — that part gets built. Over two hundred customers run a version of Stock2Track altered in some way for how they work.
How custom development worksQuestions owners ask
Can the customer be told when the job is ready?
Yes, on WhatsApp or by call from the job card. Most of our customers use this at two points: when the estimate needs approval and when the item is ready to collect.
What about jobs sent out to a third party?
Those can be tracked as a stage on the same card, so an item that has gone to an authorised centre is not simply missing from your records for a fortnight.
Does it handle warranty work?
Yes. A warranty job is recorded with the parts consumed and billed at nil, so your stock is correct and the work done is on record for the claim.
